Kalekye Mumo Opens Up About Luo Man Who Broke Her Heart And Made Her Vow To Remain Single Forever

Celebrated media personality Kalekye Mumo has opened up about a past relationship that left her devastated but, ultimately, brought her closer to faith.

Speaking candidly on The Dating Stories, she described how a relationship with a man from Bondo turned from promising to painful, teaching her valuable lessons about love, trust, and self-respect.

In the interview, Kalekye detailed her initial excitement upon meeting the man, who she thought was the one.

He appeared to have it all: a manager at a large corporation, his own home, and no apparent interest in her money or status.

“I have always been hit on by much younger men, so because he was almost my age, I thought two years younger wasn’t that bad,” she shared.

However, she admitted she missed early red flags, saying, “When you’re trying to know someone, you need to remember that red flags are red, not pink.”

Their connection began to crumble when he didn’t show up for an event with her friends, sparking her concern.

Later, he contacted her with the tragic news that his mother had passed away, prompting Kalekye to step in and help organize the funeral.

She recalled, “I went to his house and found his friends drinking and eating. I swung into action, arranging everything that needed to be done.”

Her efforts didn’t go unnoticed, with his family praising her and calling her wife material. Yet, once the funeral ended, he distanced himself, and she was left with lingering questions and disappointment.

Reflecting on her experience, Kalekye noted how deeply it hurt her, admitting, “One thing I know for sure, despite the pain I felt, wondering what I did wrong and everything, I thought the helping would bring us back together.”

Her journey ultimately led her to God, as she gave her life to Christ in 2017, describing the decision as just a release.

Since then, she has come to see love differently, prioritizing God’s plan over her own.

The experience also taught Kalekye to be cautious about those claiming similar faith values.

“I met people who lied to me that they were born again, just to get close. I bought it not once, but twice,” she shared.

Despite these painful memories, she believes the experience has strengthened her commitment to self-respect and faith, underscoring the importance of trusting God’s guidance.
