Joao Felix will don the No. 14 jersey at Chelsea as he begins his second stint at Stamford Bridge.
The club confirmed the news on Wednesday, announcing the £42.6 million permanent signing of the Portuguese forward from Atletico Madrid.
Felix, 24, previously spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Chelsea before moving to Barcelona for a year.
Now, he returns to the Blues on a seven-year contract, becoming the club’s tenth summer signing and pushing their transfer spending past the £200 million mark.
Expressing his excitement, Felix said, “I’m really happy to be back at Chelsea and I can’t wait to get started. I can see some familiar faces from the last time I was here, which is always nice.”
Felix’s return to Chelsea follows Conor Gallagher’s move to Atletico Madrid earlier on Wednesday, closing a busy transfer window between the two clubs.
During his previous spell at Chelsea, Felix scored four goals in 20 appearances, recovering from a red card on his debut.
