Jessica Simpson enjoys long walks on the beach … in platforms.
The pop singer turned up the heat yesterday in a new Instagram snap, sharing a gorgeous sunset from her Mexican vacation and showing off her unusual choice of beach footwear.
Simpson, 42, ditched flip-flops for something more stylish, choosing a black pair of cage-style platform heels as she posed in a strappy Dolce & Gabbana cutout swimsuit ($920) with gold logos at the hips.
“The sun is settin’ on the most romantic, sexy and well deserved (if I do day so myself) Mexican getaway with my forever lover @ericjohnsonalrighhhht,” the fashion entrepreneur posted.
“Awww I will miss this, but I will be bringin’ home a lot of extra passion for everyone and everything that is for sure Adios Cabo San Lucas.”
The fashion mogul accessorized her glam shoreside look with oversized shades that appear to be the “Bold Square” sunglasses ($50) from her own Jessica Simpson collection, along with an enormous gold watch and a dangling pendant necklace.
While some of Simpson’s followers were loving the sexy snapshot — like Paris Hilton, who commented with two fire emojis and a heart-eyed emoji — others were confused by her choice of footwear.
“Those shoes are definitely not practical for the beach,” one fan commented with a crying-laughing emoji. “BUT you look amazing in the pic!”
“Yep that’s my go too [sic] shoes for the surf and sand lmao,” another follower wrote.
This isn’t the first sassy black outfit the “With You” singer has rocked in recent days; she wore a form-fitting dress with side cutouts to celebrate her 42nd birthday on July 10, writing, “I am equipped to waltz within every dream I own confidently.”
Earlier this year, the star — who recently brought back her Daisy Dukes to promote her line’s roller skates — went on another Cabo getaway, and she spoke to People at the time about her decision to wear a two-piece swimsuit.
“I never thought of being in a bikini again, because I was stretched out as big as the couch,” she told the outlet. “So to be able to put on a bikini … I just hadn’t thought that was even a goal until I put it on, and I was like, ‘I think I was afraid of that.’”
