Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have had two engagements and are preparing for their second wedding — and now they each have a few new kids to call their own, too.
Prior to secretly tying the knot in Las Vegas in July 2022, Lopez and Affleck were married to other people with whom they started families.
The “Let’s Get Loud” singer was married to Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014, and they welcomed twins Max and Emme in 2008.
Meanwhile, the “Argo” actor, director and producer was married to Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018. They welcomed their first daughter, Violet, in 2005, their second daughter, Seraphina, in 2009 and their son, Samuel, in 2012.
Now that Bennifer is back for the long haul, they are blending their families.
Here’s what we know about the five children from Lopez and Affleck’s previous marriages.
Maximilian David Muñiz
Max, the only son of Lopez, was born on Feb. 22, 2008, along with his twin, Emme.
The teen bares a striking resemblance to his father, with Lopez even once calling him a “mini-Marc.”
“Emme is like a mini-me; Max is really like a mini-Marc. They’re complete opposites,” she told Latin Times (via SCMP) in 2015.
Max has signaled that he aspires to become an actor, making his screen debut in his mother’s 2022 romantic comedy “Marry Me.” According to the actress, it took a lot of family encouragement for her son to take the gig, but he immediately fell in love with it.
“They encouraged him by saying, ‘Do it, do it, you’re going to enjoy it,’” Lopez told El Gordo y la Flaca (via Hola!), adding, “He had a great time, and he wants to do it more. He wants to be an actor.”
Max is noticeably more low-key than his twin, who has followed in their parents’ footsteps to become a singer.
“It’s not that he’s shy, but I think he wants to be more of a voice actor because he has a very different voice, and he can do very different voices,” Lopez explained in the same interview. “But he will do what he wants.”
A source told In Touch Weekly in June 2021 that Max and Affleck have bonded over “movies and video games.”
Emme Maribel Muñiz
Emme — whom Lopez revealed goes by “they/them” pronouns — is Max’s twin and a singer who hit the stage with their mom during the 2020 Super Bowl halftime show.
“It was insane that it happened ’cause, you know, it’s not very common for someone my age to be on that stage,” Emme told “Entertainment Tonight” of the moment. “It was a crazy experience, but it was all really fun ’cause my friend was there at the Super Bowl with me. She was dancing, and yeah, it was really great.”
Emme previously went viral with her cover of Alicia Keys’ 2003 hit “If I Ain’t Got You.”
In addition to their music aspirations, the teen is also an author, writing the children’s book “Lord Help Me: Inspiring Prayers for Every Day,” which was published in 2020 and went on to become a New York Times bestseller.
Whether Emme sticks with music, literature or both, Lopez has vowed to stand behind her child.
“Listen, if [they were] going to do it, there’s nothing I could do to stop [them],” she told “Entertainment Tonight” about Emme in 2019. “I know that from being an artist myself. Nobody can stop me from doing what I love to do. [They are] going to do it. But I would never push [them] in any direction. I’d always help [them] as much as I can and give [them] as much counsel and advice as I can and mentor in the best ways I know how to navigate.”
Violet Affleck
The eldest daughter of Affleck and Garner, Violet was born on Dec. 1, 2005.
The teen is the spitting image of her mother and even shares “similar personality traits, too, like their passion for cooking,” a source told In Touch Weekly in 2019, adding that Violet is “a real mommy’s girl.”
Affleck gushed over his daughter’s fluency in Spanish during an appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show” in 2020.
“She’s always been a very good student, and she’s been interested in Spanish, and so I would often help her. Now, all of a sudden, she’s gotten into the grade where she’s, like, in the harder Spanish classes and she’s getting better,” he said. “She’s right at the point where I think she might be passing me.
“I was like, ‘Nope. This is not happening,’” he added with a laugh. “I don’t mind that I can’t do your math homework when you’re 14 years old, but you are not going to be better at Spanish than me. So I’ve decided now I gotta take classes. I gotta do something to keep up.”
Seraphina Rose Elizabeth Affleck
Born on Jan. 6, 2009, Seraphina is the second daughter of the “Gone Girl” actor and the “13 Going on 30” star.
She reportedly has a bold personality, with a source telling In Touch, “Seraphina is adorable and super outgoing. She has more of a mischievous streak than the other two and is incredibly close to Ben.”
Seraphina and her younger brother, Samuel, also reportedly have a “unique bond.”
“The two of them spend hours playing together. They squabble at times like all siblings, but generally speaking, they get on,” a source once said.
Violet and Seraphina are also huge fans of Taylor Swift and were speechless when they met the singer, according to Affleck’s “Kelly Clarkson Show” interview.
Samuel Garner Affleck
Samuel is the youngest of the Affleck-Garner brood, born Feb. 27, 2012.
According to his dad, he loves baseball and has gotten pretty good at it.
“I’m a coach on the Little League team, and it’s going great,” Affleck said on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in 2019. “He’s awesome, it’s a lot of fun.”
Samuel is not so good at driving, though, as he made headlines in June 2022 when he was photographed backing a Lamborghini SUV into a BMW while Affleck and Lopez shopped for cars in Los Angeles.
The preteen immediately exited the vehicle to check on both cars. Affleck did the same, comforting Samuel with a hug after the mishap.
