Jamal Musiala made history as Germany picked a 2-0 win over Hungary in Stuttgart, ensuring their spot in the Euro 2024 knockout stages.
Musiala, at 21, became the youngest player to score in a nation’s first two group stage games at a European Championship.
The Bayern Munich star opened scoring in the 22nd minute against Hungary, marking his second goal in a major tournament.
According to Opta, only four players: Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ferenc Bene, and Mikkel Damsgaard, have reached two goals in the European Championship at a younger age than Musiala.
Just as the game started,
Manuel Neuer was forced into an early save after just 20 seconds, but as the match progressed, Musiala’s goal helped Germany gain control.
Germany’s second goal came from İlkay Gündoğan, giving them the needed boost to qualify for the knockout stages.
