Lang’ata Member of Parliament (MP) Felix Odiwuori alias Jalang’o has come to assert his loyalty to Raila Odinga-led Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance coalition following allegations he is serving the interest of William Ruto-led Kenya Kwanza alliance.
Jalang’o while speaking during an interview on Citizen TV on October 7, 2022, said he would not dump Azimio for Kenya Kwanza in as much as he agrees with some of President Ruto’s strategic plans.
On the show, Jalango talked about the Hustler’s Fund and the potential it has to help the youth.
A section of Azimio supporters attacked Jalang’o on social media accusing him of supporting Kenya Kwanza.
“I see a Jalango’s heart is with, Kenya Kwanza not Azimio la Umoja with his sentiments about the Hustler’s Fund which was the main agenda in their manifesto. Maybe it’s a matter of time before we see him crossing over?” Bob Otieno Owino tweeted.
To which Jalang’o replied;
“No. I don’t think so because any government really needs an opposition at any given day, so if I cross over who will do these checks and balances? I can’t. I can’t. I will not cross over.
“For now, I’m happy with my party ODM. I’m happy in Azimio and contented that does not change the fact that the president is a personal friend.”
Jalang’o has been warming up to Ruto in the recent days. On October 3, 2022, he attended an event in Nairobi where the president was inspecting a housing project.
Jalang’o also rubbed shoulders with Ruto on October 5, 2022, when the President made an unannounced visit to Parliament and shared lunch with the lawmakers.
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino had previously accused Jalang’o of being Ruto’s mole in Azimio coalition.
