Popular Nigerian actress Jaiye Kuti recently shared a new video with her senior colleague Lalude, aiming to dispel any rumors or speculations about a possible rift between him and other veteran actors.

Recall that veteran actors like Lalude, Iya Gbonkan, Alapini Osha, and Pariolodo among others, have recently taken to social media to seek help to improve their living conditions.

A displeased Jaiye Kuti commented on the trend, berated her older colleagues, saying their present predicament is because of their failure to prepare for the future.

While describing the act as an embarrassment to the Yoruba movie industry, she explained that the veteran actors have themselves to blame for their present condition following the careless financial decisions they might have made when they were much younger.

Her statement received a barrage of criticisms from both fans and celebrities alike.

On Saturday, July 16, Jaiye Kuti posted a new video with Lalude, in which they acted out a mini drama, mentioned Baba Alapini, while conveying a message of peace with her senior colleagues, who many assumed she has a rift with.

In the video, Lalude averred that Jaiye Kuti is not a bad person and insinuated that her statement on senior colleagues was misconstrued or taken out of context.

This is coming after Yoruba Adewale Alebiosu berated Jaiye Kuti over her controversial statement, stated that thespians were not all well paid.

Recounting how he was paid a miserly amount for a movie role, he said, “I was paid just N3,000 for 11 scenes. I boarded a bus and cried uncontrollably till I arrived home.”

Alebiosu added that the incident happened just few days to Christmas, and he had expected to use the proceeds to take care of his family.
