Galatasaray insider Kağan Dursun has revealed that Manchester United recently made move to sign Victor Osimhen, tabling a verbal offer of €70 million (₦113 billion) to Napoli, his parent club.
The Nigerian forward, currently on loan at Galatasaray, has been in exceptional form, netting 14 goals across all competitions this season.
His performances have attracted interest from Europe’s elite clubs, with United reportedly making an offer.
Despite their efforts, Dursun confirmed that the club’s delegation returned from Istanbul without securing the striker’s signature.
“Manchester United recently made a verbal offer of €70 million to Napoli for Osimhen. The club came to Istanbul to convince him but returned empty-handed,” Dursun told Habersarikirmizi.
Osimhen has publicly expressed his desire to remain at Galatasaray until the end of the season, although rumours of a January transfer continue to swirl.
Dursun also shed light on the player’s contract situation, mentioning a January exit clause.
“Osimhen has a January exit clause, but it does not limit him to Galatasaray alone. If any club can convince him, they are free to negotiate,” he added.
