No fewer than three persons have reportedly died in a road crash, early Friday morning, along the Lagos-Ibadan highway, Ogun State.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed that the accident occurred around 5:22 a.m. near Danco filling station, involving nine persons.
Out of the nine men involved in the road crash, the FRSC said, “01 person was injured, 03 persons were recorded dead from the crash and others were unhurt.”
The injured victim was said to have refused to be taken to hospital by the FRSC for treatment.
According to the FRSC spokesperson in Ogun, Florence Okpe, the incident involved four vehicles: an Iveco truck marked SSU517XA; a Man Diesel container with registration number, T- 8493LA, and the other two vehicles with no number plates.
“The suspected cause of the multiple crash was speed, which led to loss of control on the part of one of the vehicles.
“The injured victim refused to be taken to hospital for medical attention.
“The 03 corpses were deposited at Idera Hospital mortuary,”
She explained.
Meanwhile, the Ogun FRSC Sector Commander, Ahmed Umar, has cautioned motorists on speed violation, while advising the use of common sense and speed limit when visibility is poor.
