A new video of Diego Maradona filmed just days before he died has surfaced online for the first time.
The former Argentina, Barcelona and Napoli legend died of a heart attack aged 60 on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, two weeks after an operation to remove a hematoma, a blood clot in his brain.
Now, Cronica TV have published a video that was recorded after he was discharged from the hospital.
The video was recorded at Maradona’s house in the San Andres de Tigre neighbourhood in Argentina with the former footballer in the kitchen with ex-girlfriend, Veronica Ojeda, and his cook Romina Milagros Rodriguez.
In the video, Maradona his head still bandaged after his operation and appears to struggle to find his words as he sends a message to his doctor from the kitchen of the home where he died.
“I’ve taken a bump, but everything is fine,” Maradona said in a message addressed to his doctor Leopoldo Luque as he tucked into a bowl of soup alongside ex-girlfriend Veronica Ojeda, who was filming the selfie video
“I’m bruised but okay. You know I don’t like intimate [moments] but when I’m with good people I come out of my shell. A kiss, Luque. Leopoldo Jacinto Luque.”
His cook Romina Milagros Rodriguez, who revealed at the weekend she was asked to give Maradona mouth-to-mouth after he suffered cardiac arrest, was seen in the background.
