When it comes to girlfriends, Leonardo DiCaprio has a type — a woman with an expiration date.
Since 1999, when he began dating model Gisele Bündchen, 18 (they broke up when she was 23), the “Once Upon a Time … In Hollywood” actor has not been publicly attached to a woman over the age of 25. Once his gal pals hit the quarter-century mark, things go kablooey and Leo, now 47, is on to make headlines with his next sweet young thing.
The latest victim of this rigidly agist pattern: Camila Morrone, who turned 25 on June 16 and whose breakup with DiCaprio was announced on Tuesday.
The model-actress now joins a gallery of gorgeous young gals cut loose by DiCaprio — and one DiCaprio source said it’s because he does not want to be tied down.
“By the time girls reach 25, they’re looking for more — they’re looking to get married and settle down. That is not what Leo wants. He does not want a family and does not want to be around women who may press him for that,” the DiCaprio source, told The Post. “The minute a girl meets him, the clock is ticking. If she gets too old, in a couple of years, she is gone. If she gets too close, in a couple of years, she is gone.
“He’s gotten older but his taste has not gotten any older.”
Or, to quote Matthew McConaughey’s character in the movie “Dazed and Confused:” “I get older, they stay the same age.”
Twitter, meanwhile, is having a heyday with DiCaprio’s track record.
“The girl Leonardo DiCaprio will dump when he is 72 was born today,” quipped one online wag. Needled another of the actor’s iconic 1997 role: “titanic turns 25 this year at which point i assume leonardo dicaprio will no longer want to be in it.”
After things wound down with Bündchen back in 2004, DiCaprio took up with Sports Illustrated model Bar Refaeli; it’s been said that his decision to not attend the Met Ball with Rafaeli precipitated their split.
In 2011, DiCaprio, at age 35, enjoyed a one-year-long globe-trotting sprint in the company of 23-year-old Blake Lively. Between 2013 and 2017, as DiCaprio’s age went from 38 to 42, he dated model Toni Garrn, “Baywatch” remake star Kelly Rohrbach and swimsuit stunner Nina Agdal. They were all in their 20s and, according to various reports, every bust-up was amicable. Hewing to form, Agdal bit the dust soon after turning 25.
DiCaprio met model-turned-actress Morrone through fellow Hollywood wolf Al Pacino, who legend dated Morrone’s mom, Lucila Sola, for a decade. Pacino’s women keep getting younger, too, with the 82-year-old most recently linked to Noor Alfallah, 28.
Heidi Fleiss, the former Hollywood madam who knows a thing or two about older men pairing with younger women, also happens to have known DiCaprio since he was a baby.: Her late pediatrician father and Leo’s dad, writer and sometimes actor George DiCaprio, were buddies. She resides squarely with Team Leo.
“Good for him. I’m on his side,” Fleiss told The Post. “He connects with women who are young and beautiful. He wants people who stimulate him mentally and physically. Why does he need to be with some woman who’s been through the wringer, who’s desperate to get what she can out of him and wants to tie him down?
“There’s something to be said for going out with people who are happy with themselves and excited about life — who can turn you on to new things and ideas that you may not already know about.”
Fleiss added that it’s not a sexist thing: “Look at Jane Fonda. She said that if she gets involved with another guy, he’ll be a younger guy.”
Still, not everyone thinks that the persistent May/December look is a good one for DiCaprio.
“A while ago, a Victoria’s Secret model I know told me about meeting him at one of the clubs in Manhattan — getting together with him and having sex. She told me she thought he was an old man,” said the DiCaprio source. “Now he is 47 and it is getting a little creepy, with him wearing the newsboy cap pulled down over his eyes, still wanting girls in their early 20s who are not just pretty but are otherworldly. I spoke with one who was not into him and she called him the ‘Michelin Man.’”
That said, the source added, DiCaprio retains the thing that attracts women young enough to be his daughters: “He is still Jack from ‘Titanic.’ Never mind that, these days, he looks more like Jack’s dad.”
