Former France left-back Patrice Evra has revealed that he was hurt by his country’s World Cup final loss to Argentina in 2022.
Evra described it as an immensely emotional event, adding that he went to his car to cry after France was defeated by Argentina.
Speaking in an interview with RMC, the former Manchester United star said;
“I watched the match live and I cried. I did not expect it. France-Argentina, I tell you the truth, I went to my car and I cried. For three days I was in pain. And I said to myself ‘Patrice, I know you love the France team’… but it hurt me so much. And then, frankly, hats off to the France team.
“Kylian scores a hat-trick. You score a hat-trick, three goals in the final and you don’t win the final. You see it was incredible!”
