An American man, identified as @urmce on Twitter, took to social media to proudly announce that he had purchased a house just one year after being literally homeless.
Sharing his joy with the world, @urmce posted a picture of himself holding the key to his new home on the microblogging platform. Alongside the image, he shared his personal journey, recalling the hardships he faced in recent months.
The young man expressed gratitude for the significant change in his circumstances, revealing that this time last year he was struggling with homelessness.
He vividly remembered squatting on people’s couches, sleeping on floors, and at times, even having to endure nights spent outside.
The emotional impact of finally having a place to call his own overwhelmed @urmce, causing him to burst into tears of joy.
He acknowledged the immense blessing of waking up and falling asleep in his own house, a far cry from the instability he had experienced previously.
Captioning his photo, he wrote;
“New beginnings 🥹.” He continued, “I was literally homeless this time last year, and for weeks, I woke up on couches, on floors, and, in some cases, outside… waking up in my own place these last few days left me with nothing but tears of joy. So blessed to be where I’m at.”
