I Used To Be A People Pleaser Because I Lacked Attention As A Child – Nancy Isime Speaks On Childhood Trauma

Nigerian actress and TV host, Nancy Isime has opened up about the trauma she experienced during childhood which affected it.
In an interview with Lilian Afegbai, the show host avowed that her childhood trauma turned her into a human pleaser as she began to do everything possible to make people like her to her detriment.

According to her, this happened because she required attention which she never got as a child.

In her words:
“I don’t force myself on anybody. I used to be a people pleaser but that came from childhood trauma. It came from childhood trauma where you’ll be looking for attention as a child and you didn’t get it. When you get older, you start wanting people to like you. So even if it’s breaking you, even if you know that this person doesn’t like you and has said shit about you, you think maybe they can change their minds”.

Speaking on how she overcame it, she affirmed that self love for helped her out of the situation.

“But learning to love myself and being intuitive helped me to heal from being a people pleaser”.
