Wizkid, a Nigerian singer and songwriter, revealed in an exclusive interview that he wrote his hit songs ‘Gyrate,’ ‘Essence,’ ‘Soco,’ and ‘Nowo’ all in one night.
In discussing the craft of music creation, he stated that most nights he wakes up and writes two or three hit songs as his spirit leads him.
When asked if he knew ‘Essence’ would be a hit, he replied that he knew his song would have a huge impact. He replied, ‘Hell yeah.’
He went on to say that he had forgotten he had written a song, but when he tweeted, ‘he and Tems made magic,‘ it drew attention. He did, However, he added that he’s been in the art for 10 years.
