“I came into the Industry before him, but I began looking up to him…” – Charles Awurum, Victor Osuagwu mourns late Mr Ibu

Veteran performers Victor Osuagwu and Charles Awurum discuss some of their experiences with the comedic genius, Mr. Ibu, and lament his passing.

Recall that Mr. Ibu, a seasoned Nollywood actor, tragically passed suddenly on March 2, 2024, following a heart arrest.

After learning the news, his two colleagues, Victor Osuagwu and Charles Awurum, with whom he had featured in several films with, rushed to social media to share their emotions.

They disclosed that they were shooting on location in Ghana when they learned of his passing, forcing them to halt work and process the devastating news.

Both Victor Osuagwu and Charles Awurum praised the late Mr. Ibu and underlined how his loss will leave a significant void in the film business.

Charles Awurum said that although he had really started in the film business before Mr. Ibu, he eventually started looking up Mr. Ibu since he seemed like a very promising potential.
