Wunmi Aloba, the widow of the late Nigerian artist Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, has decided to take a DNA test for her son Liam, a year after the singer’s death.
Earlier this year, during an Instagram live session, she made news by stating that she would never undergo a DNA test and claimed that it was Mohbad who took her virginity.
In her words; “I will never do any DNA test, no one can tell me to do DNA on my son Liam, Mohbad was the one who Disvirgined Me, and I have never slept with any Man other man in my entire life except Mohbad.”
In a recently released video, Barrister Akingbolu, who represents Wunmi, revealed that she has consented to the long-discussed DNA test for her son, Liam. This test is intended to show her father-in-law, Mr. Joseph Aloba, and others that Liam is indeed the son of Mohbad.
Barrister Akingbolu explained that Wunmi had been hesitant to take the DNA test, even though she had initially agreed, due to the overwhelming pressure she experienced after her husband’s death. He claimed that Mr. Aloba and numerous online critics exploited her grief to put her in a difficult position.
Akingbolu made serious claims against Mr. Aloba, saying he used the media to create a negative campaign against his daughter-in-law and grandson.
He added that Wunmi’s decision to take the DNA test—without a court’s approval—was more than just obeying the law; it was a bold move for her son’s respect and her late husband’s legacy.
