Nigerian singer, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk has expressed how hurt he was by Yvonne Nelson’s book, which contained revelations about their past relationships.
The Kukere hitmaker revealed that he was taken by surprise when he read about himself in the book, as he had recently spoken with Yvonne before its launch.
Yvonne Nelson, the Ghanaian actress, released her memoir titled “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson” on Fathers’ Day, June 18, 2023. The book, available on Amazon for approximately 400 Cedis (35 dollars), delves into various aspects of Yvonne’s life.
One of the notable revelations in the book is about her failed relationship with Iyanya. Yvonne accused the singer of having a secret affair with actress Tonto Dikeh during their time together. She shared details about the duration and intensity of these affairs, sparking reactions from netizens, including Iyanya.
Weeks after the book’s release and the subsequent buzz it created, Iyanya continues to feel hurt that he was featured in the book without being informed.
In an interview with Starr FM, the singer expressed his disappointment, emphasizing that he had a good relationship with Yvonne. He further revealed that she even asked him for a video endorsement for the book without disclosing that he would be prominently featured.
In his words:
“I was hurt. I won’t lie to you. She called that she was launching a book and needed a video to endorse the book but I didn’t know I was in the book. I did that because we are cool. So it was when the book came out and I knew I was in the book.”
