How I was advised to join cult to ‘blow’ my music career– Phyno

  • Phyno recently unveiled that he received an unsettling suggestion, encouraging him to affiliate with an underground cult or partake in mysterious rituals as a prerequisite for achieving prosperity in his music vocation.
  • The lyricist recounted that in the midst of his nascent days as a striving artist, he confronted an array of formidable tribulations while navigating the labyrinthine landscape of the music industry.

The Nigerian rap maestro and melodious crooner, Chibuzor Nelson Azubuike, also known as the one and only Phyno, has vividly reminisced about receiving counsel to join a cult if he aspired to bask in the brilliance of instantaneous stardom during his challenging days as an emerging artist.

As he journeyed through the corridors of his past, Phyno imparted sage advice to budding musicians about the allure of shortcuts to success. He fervently emphasized that his path to current prominence was meticulously paved with diligent toil, unwavering determination, and indomitable resilience.

Before many people heard of Phyno, I’d had songs that no one knew existed.

“A couple of friends told me to blow, I must join a cult or sacrifice something or someone, I told them the price is too much. I’ll never do such.

“I believed in myself and the power of hard work, I started little and today I thank God,” he said.

Phyno cautioned budding artists against resorting to desperation, urging them instead to embrace the virtues of diligent effort and perseverance.

The ‘Alobam’ crooner urged them to “keep working, when it’s time, you’ll shine.”

He issued a stern caution to emerging talents, advising them not to hastily embrace recording contracts without scrutinizing the terms because of desperation, stressing that they would regret it in the long run.

Phyno’s statement comes in the wake of the singer Mohbad’s passing which has been tied to the tumultuous circumstances surrounding his exit from his previous record label, Marlian Records.
