Speaking interview the father of two revealed that he first met Vanessa at a private party in the United States.
Rotimi had come with his girl at the party but she was feeling unwell and had to stay back in the hotel room as the American singer went for the party shortly.
At the party, he didn’t want to interact with his crew opting to go to a different direction and that is when he spotted Vanessa, who was sitting at the pool table.
“There she is, literally sitting on the pool table. I was like who is this,” he said.
They then interacted and talked for 3-4 hours.
Vanessa expressed interest in knowing Rotimi more, suggesting that they should catch up the following day.
Rotimi was however honest enough to explain his situation to her, adding that he had to deal with it first.
“Honestly I have someone here, I don’t want to cross ties, I don’t want to play you like that,” he told her then.
“I don’t want to put you in a situation where you view me as this guy, let me handle this first and then we can [meet] when there is no distraction,” he added.
At the time, Vanessa was still living in Tanzania. Rotimi noted that she hadn’t thought about settling with the girl he was dating then.
“I couldn’t have known she was the one. She was dope but I wasn’t in the mindset because now I met someone who made me say ‘Oh’,” he said.
The couple now live together in the US and are blessed with a son and a daughter.
Recently, Vanessa opened up on whether they plan to have another child and she said, “I am not having any more babies lakini God laughs when we are making plans you never know.”
