According to reports, Ismail Maihanci, a Nigerian politician and the House of Representatives member-elect for Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency in Taraba State, has passed away.
He was elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and died in the early hours of Saturday. The funeral will take place later in the day in accordance with Islamic customs.
Maihanci who was born on October 22, 1986, worked as a businessman and a Special Adviser to the Governor of Taraba State, Darius Ishaku. He was also previously the Secretary of the PDP in Taraba State.
Sharing the news, Bashir Ahmed tweeted:
“I have just received a sad news about the passing of our brother, Hon. Ismail Maihanci, a member-elect of Jalingo, Yorro and Zing, Federal Constituency in Taraba State. May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannah al-Firdaus”
