Helena Christensen chops off her hair: ‘It felt good’

Helena Christensen is going cool for the summer.

The supermodel, 53, revealed a dramatic hair transformation on Instagram today as she posted photos of herself with a much shorter haircut — and her famous friends were loving the chop.

“It felt good,” she captioned the series of snaps, adding emojis including a hot face, a pair of scissors and a tongue sticking out.

Wearing a strapless bikini top, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel — who typically wears her hair down to her waist — smiles at the camera in two stunning selfies, showing off a shoulder-length ‘do.

It turns out her niece, Sarah-Sofie Sonne, was responsible for the cut — and Christensen shared a photo of Sonne holding a pair of scissors to her aunt’s long locks and a photo displaying how long her hair used to be.

Jessica Reed-Kraus of House Inhabit praised Sonne’s snipping skills, writing, “Good work @sarahsofiesonne” with a heart eye emoji, while Maye Musk added two of the emojis in her own comment.

Fellow ’90s models Linda Evangelista, Yasmeen Ghauri and Gail Elliott were definitely fans of the shorter look, with Evangelista commenting “Love it!” with four hearts, Ghauri writing, “Gorgeous! Though you’re gorgeous any which way,” and Elliott adding, “Every length is good on you Helena.”

While the brunette beauty keeps a relatively low profile these days, focusing on photography and her Stærk & Christensen fashion and lifestyle brand, she starred in a lingerie campaign for Coco de Mer last summer and teamed up with her son Mingus — who also works as a model —  for a Victoria’s Secret Mother’s Day shoot in 2021.

Long or short, we’re hoping to see more of Christensen in 2022.
