“He Will Probable Get 6 Months Imprisonment or Fine of N50000” – Bobrisky’s Lawyer Speaks on Case Adjournment

The lawyer for accused crossdresser Bobrisky Okuneye provides an update on his situation as the court adjourns the case until April 9th.

In an interview with TVC News, Bobrisky’s lawyer stated that they were unable to address the judgment’s delay until April 9.

He also stated that they had referenced applicable statutes regarding Bobrisky’s status as a first-time offender, arguing for mercy in his penalty.

Bobrisky’s counsel stated that first-time offenders of money mutilation often face a ₦50,000 fine or a six-month prison sentence. He said that the EFCC had accepted Bobrisky’s request to pay the fine.

It is worth noting that during the court proceedings, Bobrisky expressed remorse and pledged to change, admitting that he was unaware that spraying money constituted a crime.

Despite the EFCC’s acceptance of Bobrisky’s proposed fine payment, his release has not been facilitated, and he remains in their custody.
