Tastes like Harry Styles’ spit?
Harry Styles made fun of the speculations that he spit on Chris Pine during his Wednesday night concert in New York City.
“This is our 10th show at Madison Square Garden, it is wonderful, wonderful, wonderful to be back here,” the British singer told his fans while opening his “Love On Tour: Madison Square Garden Is Harry’s House” show.
“I just popped over to Venice to spit on Chris Pine but fear not, we’re back!”
His remarks had concert-goers screaming and cheering the singer on as he held on to his guitar.
Fans have been talking non-stop about Styles allegedly spitting on Pine’s lap in a now-viral video of the “Don’t Worry Darling” co-stars at the Venice Film Festival premiere Monday.
In the footage, the singer-turned-actor, 28, sat on the empty seat beside Pine, who had director Olivia Wilde on his other side.
After the “Late Night Talking” singer seemingly aimed his saliva at the 42-year-old actor, Pine froze mid-clap and stared into his lap with a smile before laughing to himself.
Styles, for his part, avoided eye contact with the “Wonder Woman” star in the video, waving to other audience members behind them.
Following people’s reactions, Pine’s reps immediately shut down the theories, calling them “ridiculous stories.”
“This is a ridiculous story — a complete fabrication and the result of an odd online illusion that is clearly deceiving and allows for foolish speculation,” the rep told People Tuesday.
“Just to be clear, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine,” the rep continued. “There is nothing but respect between these two men, and any suggestion otherwise is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply does not exist.”
Not only have fans been hungry for more about Spitgate, but they’ve also been very attentive to the rumored drama between the star of the movie, Florence Pugh, and Wilde.
Many believed that Pugh had an issue with the romance between Wilde and Styles as she missed many chances to gush over the project via social media — all while promoting other upcoming roles.
