Haaland scores as Manchester City win Brighton 2-1

Erling Haaland ended his goal scoring drought for Manchester City in a 2-1 victory over a strong Brighton side on Saturday.

Haaland goal helped City regain their spot at the top of the Premier League table.

The highly spirited match also saw Julian Alvarez score for the Etihad club in the first half. Meanwhile, Brighton’s Ansu Fati managed to pull one back.

City was reduced to 10 men when Manuel Akanji was sent off late in the game for receiving two yellow cards, but they managed to hold on to secure the victory.

The victory also means that City stopped a potential three-game losing streak after defeats to Wolves and Arsenal.

Haaland’s fine performance and the return of Rodri, who had been suspended for the last three domestic games, were key factors for City.
