Gun legalization Or The Next President – Where Should Nigerians Put their Hope?

Happy Demo-Crazy Day!
Crazy is just an understatement for what Nigerians have been facing under the leadership of President Buhari.
Today was supposed to be a day worth to be celebrated among Nigerians, but there’s absolutely nothing to be happy about in the country.

The primary assignment of any president or governor is security, and obviously, the government of President Buhari has failed woefully.

The failure has seen many Nigerians lose their lives and property to the herders. The most recent was the Owo massacre on Sunday in Ondo State last week.

The Ondo state government declared that there would be no holiday for democracy day to allow the Owo people to mourn their lost ones. While the Ondo CAN chapter also plead with the government to legalize gun and let everyone protect themselves.

In one of his statements this morning, the President and commander of the Army, Muhammad Buhari, said,

“Fellow Nigerians, this is my last Democracy Day speech as your President. By June 12th, 2023, exactly one year from today, you will already have a new President. I remain committed and determined to ensure that the new President is elected through a peaceful and transparent process.”

It will take another year before having another Nigerian in charge of Aso Rock. Should we continue with the war of insecurity going on in the country for another year? And put our hope on the next President of Nigeria.
But what if the next President turns out to be another disappointment? Will gun legalization solve our problem?
