The young lady, who will turn 23 in February, shared that despite her efforts to ease the pressure by introducing her mom to the man she is currently dating, the incessant marriage talks have not stopped.

She further stated that her primary focus is on building her career and that marriage is not currently a priority for her.

In her words: “I’m really getting tired of home. I’ll be 23 this February, just graduated from university, and my mom is already pressuring me about marriage. I even introduced her to the guy I’m talking to, but every minute of the day, it’s about marriage.”

“I told her I want to build my career before even thinking about marriage, but it’s like she’s not listening. I’m honestly so annoyed and tired at this point, and I don’t know what to do anymore.”

As the post circulated online, many individuals flooded the comment section with words of advice and support, sharing their own perspectives on the situation.

@IamDabinah: “Your mum is your biggest opp sha! That woman should be recommending you for jobs not man!”

@_babe_rae: “Clear her! My mum has reduced the way she talks about marriage to me cause before she says much, I tell her I don’t really care about being married.”

@Damilola_1005: “I always change it for my mom sha now she’s changed and always praying for a job for me now.”

@Eberelollipopz: “Let her know that nowadays it is important for a woman to build herself or find a footing before going into marriage so you don’t go and give away your life to somebody in the name of marriage.”

@adebankeayomide: “You should constantly remind her that you have a goal you are aiming for. If she won’t get tired of reminding you to get married, you should also not get tired of telling her you have a goal and marriage can come later.”

@_Ogechukwukanma: “I told my mum while I was in secondary school I think, that in as much as I’m the only child she should not try that marriage pressure thing.”

@ImtheArcane: “That’s terrible honestly. You mum should be pushing for you to grow and be better. You’re way too young to even think about marriage. Best thing you can do for yourself is to leave that house. Even if it’s to stay with a friend before you get your own place. Leave there and grow.”
