The gospel singer dropped the name ‘Mukabwa’ after parting ways with her first husband.
Speaking during a recent interview with Radio Citizen, Anastacia revealed that using her exex-husband’same was the worst idea, advising women against using their partners’ names.
“I was married, but after my marriage failed, I dropped my husband’s name, Mukabwa and started using my second name, Kakii,” she said.
Anastacia advised women not to brand themselves using their spouses’ names, noting that it might affect their brand if they part ways.
“Uko na jina lako. Jibrand kama wewe. Hilo ni funzo. Jifunze kutoka kwangu maana nimebrand Mukabwa kuibadilisha inakuwa shida. Jifunze ku brand jina lako litakusaidia hata kama umeolewa.
“Maisha hubadilika. Sio lazima divorce laking chochote kinaweza fanyika. Mume anaweza kufa na ulijibrand na jina lake.”
The gospel singer revealed she got married to her first husband when she was 17.
Anastacia said that after her first marriage failed she remained single for nine long years before she fell in love again.
“We were in love, but after divorcing, we both moved on. He remarried, and I stayed single for nine years, then fell in love again,” she added.
The singer got married for the second time in December 2022. She walked down the aisle with her now husband Maurice William Juma.
Anastacia said for now she is Mrs Williams though she had not officially adopted her husband’s surname.
“For now, I am Mrs Williams. Najua watu watarusha mawe na wenye kunifurahia watanifurahia. Wewe unayetaka kusema sana hukuwepo wakati nikilia. Naomba usiwe enemy of progress. Usirushe mawe maana hujui kile nilichopitia,” she said.
