Mikel Arteta wins Premier League manager of the year

The manager of Arsenal, Mikel Arteta, was named the best manager of the year in the English Premier League by the organisers of the maiden European Globe Soccer Awards.

The award ceremony, which was held in Italy on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, saw some of the best players and managers in the world in attendance. Mikel Arteta was named the best manager in the Premier League despite finishing second behind the league winners, Manchester City, for two consecutive seasons ( 2022/23, 2023/24).

What did Mikel Arteta say?

‘Win. Win, win and win. That’s what we want. We’ve been through a few years right now, we have a team that is full of enthusiasm and so hungry to win trophies. We know the competition, but we believe we can do it. So we are going to give it a real go.”

Other winners at the award ceremony were, Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal claimed U-23 LaLiga Player of the Season, Girona’s Michel Sanchez won LaLiga Coach of the Season, Jude Bellingham was voted LaLiga Player of the Season.

The award for the revelation of the season was given to Champions of the Europa League, Atalanta, Barcelona’s female side won Best Women’s Team, Manchester City were named Best Men’s team.
