Senator George Akume has been sworn in as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
President Bola Tinubu, Wednesday, administered the oath of office on him in the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
he swearing-in was witnessed by the SGF’s wife, Regina; Vice President Kashim Shettima; Senate President Ahmed Lawan; Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr FolasadeYemi-Esan.
Speaking to correspondents after the short ceremony, Akume expressed his joy over the appointment and assured that he would do the best of his ability for the success of the administration.
Others present at the brief event were the governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hycent Alia, and some servicing and former governors, including the former governor of Nasarawa state, Tanko Almakura and the immediate past SGF, Boss Mustapha.
Boss Mustapha CFR, born 1956 is a Nigerian lawyer and politician who served as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) of Nigeria from 2017 to 2023, and Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.
