Euro 2024: Phil Foden leaves England camp

The English FA has confirmed the temporary exit of Phil Foden from the England camp at the ongoing Euro 2024 that is being hosted in Germany following a family emergency.

The exit of the Manchester City midfielder from England camp was announced on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. FA spokesperson confirmed the news saying that Phil Foden had temporarily left the England camp and returned to the UK for a pressing family matter.

He started all three of England’s group-stage matches ( Denmark, Slovenia, Serbia) in Germany as they advanced to the Round of 16 by finishing top of Group C. Foden alongside his teammates has not lived up to the expectations of their supporters in the group stage.

However, their supporters will hope they get to see a change in performance when they play their Round of 16 game on Sunday, June 30, 2024.

Who will England play in the Round of 16 at Euro 2024?

England will discover their last-16 fate on Wednesday evening, with either the Netherlands or the third-placed team in Group E.
