Former Cameroon sensation Samuel Eto’o, reportedly spent his entire five-year stay at Barcelona living in a luxurious hotel suite.
According to Spanish journalist Alfonso Arus on La Sexta, the former Inter Milan striker never moved out of the Hotel Arts in Barcelona, where he paid €2,600 per night.
Signed from Mallorca in 2004 for €27 million, Eto’o went on to enjoy immense success with Barcelona, winning three La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues.
Despite the hotel’s location near the bustling beachfront nightlife, Arus claims Eto’o led a relatively quiet life during his time there, surrounded by his entourage.
If the reports are accurate, Eto’o spent around €4.75 million on accommodation during his time with the Catalan giants.
Meanwhile, Eto’o currently serves as President of the Cameroon Football Federation but is under suspension by FIFA due to match-fixing allegations.
