Erling Haaland has opened up on life under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, discussing his arrival at the club and his new manager’s philosophy.
Haaland moved to City from Borussia Dortmund this summer in a deal worth £51m and has hit the ground running in English football.
The Norwegian forward has already scored 12 goals in all competitions for his new club, taking to life in England like a duck to water despite question marks over how he’d fare in Guardiola’s intricate system.
Speaking to Telemundo Deportes, Haaland discussed his relationship with Guardiola: “He’s a football fanatic just like I am.
“We both love football. He was a player and now he’s a coach, and he’s crazy about football.
“That’s something I like a lot because he thinks about everything and how we can improve. That’s something I like about him.”
Discussing the transition period that comes with switching clubs and trying to integrate into City’s style of play as seamlessly as possible, Haaland admitted he finds it ‘complicated’ but maintained that he was acclimatising well: “I’m trying to internalise it as soon as possible.”
