England will return to the scene of two of their most famous nights at Euro 2022 for an October friendly with the Czech Republic at the Amex Stadium in Brighton.
The Lionesses registered a European Championship record 8-0 victory over Norway at the Amex in the group stages and came back from the brink of elimination to seal a dramatic extra time over Spain in the quarter finals en route to being crowned Euro 2022 champions.
Sarina Wiegman’s side will be back in Brighton on Tuesday 11 October 2022 to face the Czech Republic in an international friendly as preparations get underway for next summer’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
The fixture will follow the much anticipated match up with world champions the USA at Wembley on Friday 7 March.
“The World Cup has our full focus,” said Wiegman. “It is great we will have challenging matches against two opponents who have very different styles of play, as we start the road to Australia and New Zealand.
“We have achieved so much this year, but we need to be thinking about where we want to be as a squad next summer on the biggest stage of all. I am also very happy we get a chance to go back to Brighton and say thank you to the fans who played such a big part in our Euro experience.”
Tickets will go on-sale to My England Football members at 12pm on Wednesday 7 September, before general sale opens at 12pm on Thursday 8 September.
