Super Eagles interim coach Augustine Eguavoen has traveled to Belgium for a medical check-up, according to SCORENigeria.
Eguavoen is expected to join the Super Eagles camp in Abidjan directly from Belgium as they prepare for an important Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.
The Nigerian team are set to face the Cheetahs of Benin Republic next Thursday at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.
Camp will open for the players and staff on Monday, allowing for a few days of preparation ahead of the match.
Following the game against Benin, the Super Eagles will return to Nigeria, where they’ll host the Amavubi of Rwanda at Uyo’s Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Monday, November 14.
Nigeria currently leads Group D with 10 points from four matches, holding a four-point advantage over Benin.
A draw in their upcoming clash with Benin Republic would secure Nigeria’s qualification for AFCON 2025.
