Drew Barrymore ‘had no idea’ her rain video would go viral

Drew Barrymore was gobsmacked that her rain frolic went viral.

The “Charlie’s Angels” star posted a joyful video of herself rejoicing as she frolicked outside during a downpour in July. In the clip, she tips her head toward the sky and exhorts, “Whenever you can, go out into the rain! Do not miss the opportunity!”

The video was viewed over 22 million times and racked up over 10 million likes.

“I had no idea [it would go viral],” the 47-year-old actress told Page Six Friday on the Harper’s Bazaar ICONS party red carpet in NYC.

“I don’t know, it was just a moment,” she explained. “I do love the rain and I do love running out in it.”

Barrymore added that she thinks too many people refrain from getting wet “because we think about the aftermath.”

“‘Do I have to be somewhere? My clothes!’ We stop ourselves from the spontaneity and rain is for everybody,” she continued. “And I love things that are for everyone.”

Other celebs at the packed NYFW bash included Julia Fox, Alicia Silverstone, Dove Cameron, Heidi Klum and her model daughter, Leni Klum, and rapper Jack Harlow, who performed for the chic crowd.

In addition to checking the weather for any upcoming storms, Barrymore is also gearing up for her daytime talk show, “The Drew Barrymore Show,” to kick off its third season Monday.

“I have the most amazing premiere episode with [ex-boyfriend] Justin Long,” she teased of the new season. “I’m so happy with it. It’s personal and cool and fun and it talks about championing your ex, which is such a great thing to do in life.”

The “Santa Clarita Diet” alum dated the 44-year-old “F Is for Family” actor — who is currently dating actress Kate Bosworth — from 2007 to 2010.
