The Carabao Cup 2022/23 is currently at the Round Two stage, with 13 Premier League clubs joining the EFL clubs who successfully made it through Round One.

The competition, which was established in 1960, is regionalised for the early rounds of the competition but those restrictions are lifted once the 32 participants in Round Three are confirmed.

Liverpool’s are the competition’s defending champions having seen off Chelsea in a dramatic penalty shootout at Wembley last year.

The date for the Carabao Cup 2022/23 draw has not yet been confirmed, but the ties will be contested week commencing 7 November.

The Carabao Cup second round draw for 2022/23 took place on Thursday 23 June. The games were scheduled to take place on Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 August.

Liverpool are also the most successful side in Carabao Cup history. They have won the competition nine times, one more than Manchester City.

Aston Villa, Chelsea and Manchester United have five victories to their name, while Nottingham Forest and Tottenham have chalked up four trophy wins.
