A witness, who had come to testify in a case at the Ondo State High Court in Oka involving his friend, suddenly collapsed and died.
The incident reportedly occurred without any prior interaction or apparent cause, leaving eyewitnesses in shock.
Eyewitnesses recounted the suddenness of the event. One stated; “The man was in court with his friend and suddenly, he stood up where he was seated and fell down, hitting his head on the tiles and he passed on. He didn’t look like someone who was sick and he didn’t interact with anyone but suddenly gave up.”
The situation quickly drew attention, and officers from the Enu-Owa Division in Ondo were dispatched to the scene. They promptly transported the body to a morgue for further examination.
Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed the incident, noting that the case has been transferred to the homicide section of the police headquarters in Akure for further investigation.
The sudden and unexplained nature of the death has prompted a thorough inquiry to determine the cause and any underlying factors.
