Dr. Abel Damina Challenges Christmas Traditions, Claims December 25 Is Not Jesus’ Birthdate

Abel Damina

Dr. Abel Damina, founder of Abel Damina Ministries and Power City International, has sparked fresh debates about the origins of Christmas and its association with the birth of Jesus Christ.

As millions worldwide celebrated December 25 as Christ’s birthdate, Dr. Damina offered a contrary view during a recent interview on the Mic On podcast with journalist Seun Okinbaloye. His remarks were both candid and unconventional.

“I don’t believe in Christmas,” Damina stated, adding that while he respects Christians who celebrate the holiday for its spirit of goodwill and unity, he does not subscribe to the belief that Jesus was born on December 25.

The pastor further explained that the date has no biblical or historical basis, pointing out that calendar distortions over centuries have obscured the true birthdate of Jesus. He emphasized that the December 25 tradition stems from cultural and historical adaptations rather than scriptural evidence.

Damina’s perspective has reignited discussions among Christians and theologians, with many pondering the implications of his claims while reflecting on the broader significance of Christmas as a season of love and unity.
