Do You Think The Change Of Name From “BUJU” To “BNXN” Is A Good Decision or A Misplaced Priority & Stupidity?

Daniel Benson formerly known as BUJU, who now goes by BNXN or Bujutoyourears, is a Nigerian Afro-Fusion singer, songwriter and record producer.
He is known for featuring on fellow Nigerian artist Ladipoe’s single Feeling.

The stage name ‘Buju’ is a coined acronym that stands for ‘Beauty Underneath Just Understood’. However, the fast-rising afro-fusion musician has officially changed his stage name from BUJU to BNXN.

Buju was previously signed to Burna Boy’s Spaceship Records.

On 17th February, 2022, Buju made an announcement via his Twitter page, that he would no longer be called Buju but Benson, stylised as BNXN.

According to him, he was being mistaken for another Jamaican singer known as Buju Banton.

Mark Anthony Myrie, professionally known by his stage name Buju Banton, is a Jamaican reggae dancehall recording artist. He is widely considered one of the most significant and well-regarded artists in Jamaican music.
MY THOUGHTS:

Changing of stage name from BUJU to BNXN for being mistaken for another Jamaican singer, is a total misplaced priority and stupidity from him and his team.

Two different artistes can bear same stage name so long they don’t share same nationality.

Can you list how man rappers with “Lil” attached to their names? Why didn’t Lil Wayne change his stage name to Big Wayne?

Nigerian rapper Zlatan Ibile and Swedish professional footballer Zlatan Ibrahimović shares the same name. Why didn’t one of them change name to something else?

Besides change of name at this point, is of no relevant. Nigerians will still refer to him as BUJU instead of BNXN. Even Wizkid tried changing his stage name to BIG WIZ but it flopped; his fans still address him as Wizkid.

What about Kizz Daniel. He went by the stage name Kiss Daniel prior to changing it in May 2018, yet people still refer to him as Kiss Daniel.

Now someone is changing from BUJU to BNXN, a strange and hard to pronounce abbreviation lol.

Why not go with his birth name Daniel Benson instead. This sh*t MIGHT affect his music career negatively at the moment sha.
