Details Emerge On Why Njambi Koikai’s Father Ambassador Daniel Koikai Committed Suicide

In a heartbreaking series of events, Ambassador Daniel Koikai, the father of media personality and reggae MC Mary Njambi Koikai, took his own life shortly after delivering a poignant tribute at his daughter’s requiem mass.

Daniel Koikai’s tragic death occurred on the same day as his daughter’s burial at Lang’ata Cemetery.

Before his passing, Ambassador Koikai gave a heartfelt eulogy, openly acknowledging his perceived shortcomings as a father and the emotional toll of Njambi’s final journey.

“I will remember you in many ways and I ask here in public, where I may not have fulfilled my duties as your dad, please forgive me, forgive me, and forgive me. And I pray that your soul will rest in Eternal Peace. Till we meet again, bye-bye,” he expressed.

Ambassador Koikai reflected on the complexities of his relationship with his late daughter, marked by his commitments that often kept him away.

“A time has come for me to atone for my acts of omission and commission,” he stated.

Sources close to the family indicate that Ambassador Koikai had been battling depression, exacerbated by backlash from feminists accusing him of being a deadbeat father.

However, an insider dismissed these claims, emphasizing that while he may have been absent at times, he was not a neglectful parent.

“Ambassador Koikai was a good father and a true gentleman. He was an absent father but not a deadbeat. The girl had his surname despite the fact that he never married the mother. She was taken to the best schools by the so-called deadbeat. The father paid her school fees partly in primary school, high school, all the way to university, both undergraduate and master’s degrees,” the insider revealed.

“He also got her a job at KBC and an internship at the US embassy. I was lucky enough to meet Njambi in person while working with Gaplink International. The organization hired her as an interpreter when we had visitors from France. Njambi spoke fluent French; she was truly a gem,” the insider added.

Ambassador Daniel Koikai’s death highlights the often-hidden struggles with mental health and the profound impact of societal pressures and personal regrets.

His legacy, marked by both his public service and his commitment to his daughter’s education and career, stands in stark contrast to the negative portrayals he faced.

This tragedy serves as a reminder of the importance of understanding and addressing mental health issues with compassion and support.
