A couple who went on vacation to renew their vows in Guatemala had their plans ruined after an Uber driver charged them N10 million for a ride.
The couple, Douglas Ordonez and Dominique Adams were charged $30,000 equivalent to N10 million for a 30-minute ride in Costa Rica.
According to the man who is an entrepreneur, the Uber driver charged them $30,000 instead of $55 after riding them to the airport.
According to the young man, their bank account was drained after the payment; Uber however blamed it on a currency conversion error by the bank.
Due to the problem, the couple’s vacation came to a halt while they canceled their vow renewal ceremony to survive on a tight budget while they waited for the issue to be resolved.
