Ckay’s ‘Love Nwantiti’ Is No. 1 On First Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart

Nigerian singer and songwriter Chukwuka Ekweani, better known by his stage name Ckay, has topped the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs chart with his hit tune “Love Nwantiti”.
The Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart premieres (March 29), ranking the 50 most popular Afrobeats songs in the U.S. based on a weighted formula incorporating official streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of leading audio and video music services, plus download sales from top music retailers.

The singer’s hit song ‘Love Nwantiti’ debuts at number one on the newly formed Billboard US Afrobeats Songs chart, which was released by Billboard in collaboration with the Afro Nation festival.

Tems, who appeared on the chart eight times, and CKay, who also held the number one position, completely dominated the newly launched chart to honour the success of Afrobeats in the mainstream market.

‘Love Nwantiti’ is a certified hit, and the song has become the most-streamed afrobeats song by a Nigerian on Spotify.

The classic song has also debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the top 200 charts.
