The Emo-Afrobeat Artist Chukwuka Ekweani, better known by his stage name Ckay, has become Africa’s best-selling global artist as he surpasses Wizkid and Burna Boy with a whopping N2.6 Billion from his 2019/20 song, “Love Nwantiti”.
Ckay would have hissed if someone had told him he was going to pay out big time with his 2019 hit music “Love Nwantiti” as is currently the best-selling global artist thanks to TikTok and YouTube.
According to Business Day, Ckay’s six official versions of the original audio, remixes, and visuals have racked up over 1.5 billion streams on Spotify, Apple Music Boomplay, Audiomack, and YouTube.
The Spotify version of Love Nwantiti has received over 824.9 million streams, boosting the song’s profits to $3.3 million, which converts to N1.3 billion.
“Love Nwantiti” has a total of 100.08 million streams on Apple Music, which converts to $500,400, or N208.2 million when converted to naira.
Ckay has over 24.3 million streams on Boomplay, which equates to about N607.5 million ($1.5 million).
On Audiomack, Love Nwantiti reached 33.2 million streams and with an average pay of N1.65, it will earn the singer N54.8 million or $131,654.
The video versions of the song have received 559.3 million streams on YouTube, and according to streaming Royalty calculations, the song has earned him about N407.2 million ($978,775).
