Afrobeats singer, Davido says he sees a joint album with American colleague, Chris Brown coming because they have spoken about it.
According to him, about 10 songs have already been recorded by both of them. Davido made this known in an interview on Bootleg Kev podcast. In his words:
“If I were to do a collab project or collab album with anyone from the states, it will definitely be Chris.”
“Me and Chris got like 10 songs people haven’t heard.
We’ve definitely talked about doing an album.”
Davido added that he likes working with Chris Brown because he will show up for video shoot and also go on tour with collaborators.
The singer said he is also looking forward to working with American R&B crooner, SZA, and reggaeton artist, Bad Bunny.
Davido had previously worked with Chris Brown on ‘Blow My Mind‘ in 2019. He also featured on the deluxe version of Chris Brown’s ‘Brezzy’ album last year.
hitztv reported that Davido revealed he has started to charge artistes seeking for his collaboration on their songs.
Speaking in an interview on the Bootleg Kev show Davido said his lawyers have drawn up contracts in tune to his revelation.
The Unavailable hitmaker stated that he now charges $100k (N46M) plus a video when it comes to being featured by artistes that he knows. He insinuated that it could be more if the collaboration request is from someone who he isn’t familiar with.
As expected the video generated several reactions among netizens, while some hailed Davido for the latest decision claiming that free access to him will be reduced as he won’t be taken for granted, others noted that he is supposed to charge higher than that based on his level and impact in the music industry.
