Miss Universe 2024’s first runner-up, Chidimma Vanessa Adetshina shares her perspective on the value of respect during the competition’s finale.

“I feel like being respected is more important than being liked. We live in a society where we often don’t feel respected because of who we are, and I feel like when you respect yourself, you respect others around you, and respect is really important,” she stated.

Adetshina, representing Nigeria, emerged as the first runner-up, finishing just behind Denmark’s Victoria Kjær Theilvig, who claimed the crown.
