The former Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking time by an individual, Lata Tondon, has bowed to pressure after the new Nigerian record holder, Chef Hilda Baci deposed her.
Guinness World Records certified Hilda as the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual on Tuesday, with a time of 93 hours and 11 minutes.
Chef Tondon took to her Instagram stories on Thursday, to congratulate Hilda and Nigerians on the win. Sharing a message with a photo of herself in a white chef uniform, she wrote:
“Namastey Nigeria. I’m very happy for you all & my best wishes to Hilda!”

Recall Lata Tondon had garnered mixed reactions after she deleted her message of support to Baci and removed the Guinness World Record title from her Instagram bio.
In May, She sent the wishes on Instagram when Hilda Baci publicized cook-a-thon. She posted a photo of Hilda with the caption:
“All the best Hilda👍 Hope to see you on the Official Site of Guinness Book Of World Records Soon!!”
However, after GWR announced Hilda as the new record holder for the longest cooking time by an individual on Tuesday, June 13, a check on Lata Tondon’s page showed that she had taken down the post.
It was noticed that she also removed the Guinness World Record title from her Instagram bio as well.
