CAF announces date, venue for Africa Player of the Year award

The Confederation of Africa ( CAF) has announced the date for the 2024 Africa Player of the Year Award which will be hosted for the third consecutive time in Marrakesh, Morocco.

The CAF award is usually conducted every year for both players and clubs following their impressive performance in all football competitions for both men’s and women’s categories. The body confirmed the news on its official X account on Thursday, October 24, 2024.

The statement read as follows,

“The CAFAwards24 will be hosted in the tourist city of Marrakech, Morocco, on 16 December 2024”

The final list of contenders for Africa’s Best Player has yet to be finalized, several notable names are expected to be in the running for the coveted accolade. Among them are Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman, Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy, and Morocco’s Brahim Díaz, all of whom have had standout performances in their respective leagues and competitions this year.

Other categories in the CAF award include; Youth Player of the Year, Club of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year, Team of the Year, Coach of the Year and others.
