Brittany Aldean says ‘transphobic’ post was ‘taken out of context’

Brittany Aldean is claiming her allegedly transphobic Instagram Reel was “taken out of context,” one week after igniting backlash online.

“Instead of getting twisted about the twisting of my words, I’ve chosen to bring some good out of it,” Jason Aldean’s wife wrote via Instagram Tuesday.

The social media upload announced the launch of the 34-year-old former cheerleader’s “Don’t Tread On Our Kids” sweatshirts and tees.

Brittany elaborated on the inspiration behind the “Barbie-inspired” designs in an Instagram Story post.

“They say ‘Don’t Tread On Our Kids’ because that’s how we feel,” she said. “Leave the kids alone.”

While many of the Tennessee resident’s followers praised her clothing line, others flagged the Barbie-like font to Mattel via Twitter.

“@Barbie did Brittany Aldean receive permission to use your brand as part of her clothing line?” one social media user tweeted.

Another added, “@Mattel I hope you know Brittany Aldean is using your branding to spew her transphobic agenda.”

Brittany has been feuding online with country singers Maren Morris and Cassadee Pope since posting a video last week captioned, “I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase. I love this girly life.”

Pope sarcastically called Brittany’s move “real nice,” tweeting, “Here we are, hearing someone compare their “tomboy phase” to someone wanting to transition.”

Morris, for her part, wrote, “It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie.”

Jason, 45, defended his wife when she called parents allowing their trans children to transition “one of the worst evils,” referring to her as “MY Barbie.”

The “Dirt Road Anthem” singer also commented on Brittany’s original post, writing, “Lmao!! Im glad they didn’t too, cause you and I wouldn’t have worked out. 😂.”

Brittany continued to clap back on her own, accusing Pope, 33, via Stories of “advocating for the genital mutilation of children.”

She went on to call Morris, 32, “Karen Morris” and thank her for the Barbie comparison.

On Monday, Brittany reposted a quote by Republican pundit Robby Starbuck about receiving “hate” over your “beliefs.”
