Bournemouth stun 10-man Arsenal 2-0

Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes suffered a blow as they fell 2-0 to a brilliant Bournemouth side.

This came after William Saliba’s controversial red card changed the game.

The French defender was sent off in the 30th minute for a foul on Evanilson, following a poor pass from Leandro Trossard that left Saliba exposed.

Referee Rob Jones, after consulting VAR, sent Saliba off, leaving the Gunners down to 10 men.

Despite enjoying significant possession, Arsenal struggled to create clear chances.

Bournemouth then capitalized on their numbers, with Ryan Christie’s superb 71st-minute strike giving the Cherries the lead.

Five minutes later, Justin Kluivert sealed the victory from the penalty spot after a Jakob Kiwior mistake led to a foul on Evanilson by David Raya.

Although Raya avoided a red card, Kluivert sent him the wrong way to secure Bournemouth’s win.

This defeat marks Arsenal’s first Premier League loss of the season.
